We're blaming it on post pregnancy hormones, but I don't know how long that excuse will fly. I love it that you called AJ-Beyatch out on it. The only time I remember going to AJ's was to buy a slab of salmon to make sushi with our friend Doug. I am well aware of the term "upsale" but this is the only Starbucks that EVER pulls it. It has nothing to do with job requirements, it has everything to do with how annoying it is that I bring my patronage to a place, and they immediately try to take advantage of me--as if the prices aren't already a huge insult. the only other Starbucks that attempts to sell me something without me asking is when the cashier at my usual Starbucks says "Hi, Brian, are you getting the Grande today? And are you getting a caramel macchiatto (sp?) for Jennifer too?" I will add though, that as annoying as the B&N cashier is, they can't touch the ones at AJ's Fine Foods, and AJ's even sells inferior coffee!</p></p> <p>Pavette, you missed the point entirely. (that's what it is called in the business) You just need to be more addicted to the point that you are a regular, and they KNOW that you will NEVER buy food or a bigger drink.
