Luke Day Part 2
Tuesday, July 10th, 2007I though I would get a few things down before I forget them. They will come in handy if you should ever find yourself in an F-16. Don’t be mistaken; these will do absolutely SQUAT to keep you from crashing to the ground in a glorious fireball of metal and weaponry, but if you are flying a simulator well….
The landing gear will be damaged if lowered above 300 knots, so if you are taking off, get the gear up right away (you will ab about 250 knots at take-off). When you come in to land, wait for about 275 knots to put the gear down.
When landing, get lined up on the runway, and adjust your speed so that you will approach at around 250 knots and set it back to idle (full back). Line up your direction of flight with the end of the runway, and as you approach, let the plane drop on its own. When you feel you are close to touching down, pull back on the stick and line up with the horizon. Or something like that.

The simulator is just like the cockpit in the second video. Thankfully, the horrible music was not playing.
